In Love with God and In Love with Each Other

A passion to serve God and to do Kingdom work is why this ministry was birthed. We prayed, pondered, we talked, we counted up the cost and it was evident that we wanted to make a difference. This is why G&P Ministries; a 501 (C) 3 organization was ordinally established. This Ministry is based on the 13th Chapter of the book of 1 Corinthians.  To sum it up, the book refers to the God-kind-of-love.

Combined, we have more than forty years of Outreach, Teaching, Leadership, Counseling, Ministry work, Servicing and Praying towards making an impact in the lives of others. Yes, we know there are a lot of non-profit ministries out there, and yet we still have those who are homeless, abused, and people leaving prison with nowhere to go. We also have people loosing their jobs and living in their cars, human trafficking, children  without enough to eat, and the list goes on. There is such a great need and our hearts are open to wherever God directs us.

As we face this new-norm of living, there is an even greater need for mental health provision. We desire to be instrumental in guiding people into a positive mindset and providing provisions for as many as we can in their areas of need. Therefore, we find it necessary to engage in this fight for the less fortunate. We want to do our part, no matter how large or small; to be God's hands and feet, helping as many as we can.

BIO FOR MINISTER PHYLLIS HARPER

Minister Phyllis Harper surrendered to God at an early age. Raised by a spirit-filled mother who prayed over her and her sisters in the midnight hours is what caused the burning desire to surrender all to God. Her love for God and working in His Kingdom started at age 18. Being instrumental in every church she joined to help it grow by sharing her gifts whether working with children, women ministry, choir, financials, and working on the Pastor's Aide committee. As she matured, God pressed upon her to serve as a Minister of the Gospel. Later she served as Associate Pastor for several years. Ordained in 2008 God called her to start a church and she became the founding Pastor. With joy and excitement she has poured spiritually into God’s Kingdom for many years. In 2015 she happily married Minister Gregory Harper and started working and using her gifts at his Church.

ASSIGNMENT FROM GOD

We are both excited about serving others and are compelled to visit those in the hospital, respond to prayer requests, teach bible study, provide counseling, etc. One of our primary goals is to raise enough money to establish a home for newly released inmates. We also desire to provide living spaces for at-risk women and children. But our ultimate goal in ministry is to focus on making a positive difference in people's lives, so that they may grow spiritually and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Little did we know that all the opportunities to serve in the past would lead to the formation of G & P Ministry, some 20 years later.

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Eph. 2:10)
